Spannagelhöhle at the Hintertuxer Gletscher

The Spannagelhöhle (Spannagel cave) is, according to the latest messurement, 10 km long and like this, the biggest cave in the central alps area and the highest located exhibition cave in the whole of Europe.

Approx. 500m of this alpine cave are open for guided tours to all nature lovers.

In the tour you will find out about the interior of the cave (coloured marble, various calc-sinter bonds,
dripstones, calc-sinter, crystals, marble, spectacular erosion scours, etc.).

Furthermore you will learn about the age, formation, cave flora and fauna, climate and the cave air, that  is especially healthy for lungers.

Duration of the tour: 1 hour in company of registered cave guides, illumination: electric equippment: helmet + jacket will be provided; Skiers will get wellington boots. A trip, you will not regret! Open all year!
