Solitude galore

Starting point is the Bichlalm, at 1695 metres, high above Hintertux. On a narrow road, that rises slowly at first, then getting steeper, one reaches the look-out Stulfegg (1965 m) in about 40 minutes. You'll have a wonderful view into the Gschützkar, the favourite spot of the chamois.

You will be acompanied constantly by sweet smelling herbs and bushes, and by the king of the skies, the eagles, that circle around. The path will get steeper and will take you to a sign post of a special kind. The names of the surrounding summits are written on wooden sign posts; with the help of a map even a person unfamiliar with the place will find his way.

The view ranges form the Höllenstein and the Realspitze across the Hohen Riffler to the Olperer and the Lärmstange to the massif of the glacier. What follows now, is a comparatively steep ascend
across steps until the braching (Stempelstelle) to the peak of the Wandspitze. The now arrived height is about 2564 m, the walking distance is about three hours. For the the extreme climbers: the peak is
located 120m higher.

You will descend on very steep serpentines until the Weidental (1882 m) and from there on, it will be a lot more comfortable, past the Schleier waterfalll to the starting point in Hintertux.

Our tip: Don't forget to bring along snacks and enough beverages, for the only rest stop possibility is the Bichlalm!
