A tour using all your senses  - enjoyable tour between glacial ice and 3000m peaks.

In order to get to the starting point of the hiking trail across the Kaserer Scharte and to the  Frauenwand, one takes the gondola lift from Hintertux (1500m) to the Sommerbergalm (2100 m).

From there one hikes on the Spannagelweg, beneath the Ramsmooslift until one reaches the crossing (1/2 h) and then on on a short trail up to the Kaserer Scharte. Alpine roses, St. John's wort and wild gentian are a dolce contrast to the mighty glacier, with its famous peaks and steep cliffs.

Lärmstange (2686 m), Olperer (3476 m), Gefrorene-Wand-Spitzen (3288 m) and the Hohe Riffler (3231 m) compete in getting your attention.

After about two hours of ascent on the Kaserer Scharte, there is a change in the scenary. On a clear
day the view varies from the Ötztal to the Stubaier alps.   

Down in the valley lies the village of Schmirn, to which Hintertux also belonged in administrative terms until the year 1926. At the backside, facing the Tuxer Joch, you will find a lovely alpine pasture scenery, and you need just about half an hour to get to the Tuxer-Joch-Haus (2313 m). While enjoying the beautiful panorama, one can have a snack and then finally descend to Hintertux across the Weitental and past the Schleier waterfall.
