The History
1971
The foundation for today's Bergland is laid in 1971 - a bed and breakfast with thirty beds. In addition also a grocery store, a souvenir shop and a ski rental are built.
1983
For the first time the emphasis is put on relaxation and recreation. A small, rustic sauna and a steam bath with a relaxation room and a cold pool are built.
1985
The next step: Twenty additional beds and the change to a half-board hotel. From now on the house is a hotel-guesthouse - the quality is raised constantly!
1990
The grocery store is closed for economic reasons. It is replaced by a very cosy and a highly exclusive dining hall.
1994
The hotel is brought up-to-date: New family and castle apartments as well as the comfortable Bergland suites, which invite to relax, are built. Also the sauna area is expanded: Gym and fitess room, various saunas, jacuzzis, solaria, and the most important of all: a vital-section. The entrance is designed generously and in an inviting way. A light tower garden and a cosy fire place hall are perfect to relax.
1995
A great playground for children with wigwam, fire place and trees for climbing are built in the garden.
1998
The greatest wish of the owner Franz comes true: The panoramic swimming pool is built. The pool is approximately 11 metres long and 6,5 Meter broad - water temperature: 30° C. In the pool there are various specials such as ground blasts, counter-current system, neck massage and a massage street.
1999
With relatively huge effort the garden is expanded by a retaining wall in direction to the creek. Now there is also the required sunbathing area for the summer.
2000
An underground parking place is necessary: Two levels have room for forty cars - on this building the future expansions should take place. At the same time a second room for cosmetics is built in the spa area as well as a hamam bath and an own reception for the vital section.
2001
New beautiful suits and apartments with twenty additional beds are built, as well as the various spa-restaurants, the fitness house, Gymland and the rooms for the staff. At the same time a great buffet room is built, the kitchen is expanded and the conference room is relocated and a great childrens-Eldorado is built. Furthermore the sauna world gets a new mountain crystal grotto and the Sun-Valley.
2002
We have new great spa-treatment rooms.
2003
We always wanted an own house for the staff - the house "Steinbock" in Vorderlanersbach is purchased. At the same time five great holiday flats are built in this house so that we have room for twenty-one guests as well as for fifteen to twenty staff members. The houe is called "Appartements Steinbock".
2004
The Fit 4 Fun Haus is brought up-to-date, the latest cardio-machines from Technogym can now be used by our guests. Also various changes are made at the spa area and at the Café.
2005
We have built an outdoor-brine-jacuzzi-tub (36° Celsius with 4 % brine concentration), the sauna facilty is redesigned (Tyrolean Zirbenstubensauna, herbal-biological-sauna - each with excellent light effects, ice grotto) and a new guest room is built.
2007
German Spa - Association - Certification.
Hotels, which successfully meet the requirements of the German spa-association are awarded with a Premium-Certificate. You can recognise these hotels at the quality-titles "good", "very good" or "excellent".
2008
A very spezial milestone was set. After the complete renovation of the house we set the focus on romance. With this we found what we were looking for, for very long after a very hectic and stressful time: Romance. We found what everyone is looking for in this hectic and stressful times. We are trusting this new concept completely and are very confident in it. With lots of sensitiveness and heart we created the first „cuddle oasis“ of a special kind in the Zillertal.
Another wonderful thing happened in 2008: Our sunshine Martin was born on Sunday, 1st of June at 1.48 am with 2,750 g and 46 cm!
2010
On Monday, the 25th of January our sweet princess Anna Elisabeth has seen the light of day for the first time. At 8.29 am in the university clinic Innsbruck our new star was born!
Moreover the Bergland won further awards, for example the SPA AWARD 2011 and a rating of excellent quality from Hotels Best.
2011
40-year-jubilee: with Tyrolean passion and sense of tradition we managed to build up from the small bed and breakfast Bergland one of the most exclusive and renowed hotels in the Zillertal. A warm “Thank You” directly from our hearts goes to all our regular guests that remained loyal to our house and with whom we were able to experience so many wonderful days.
